Enabling researchers to find, read and cite your journal - great technology

Cutting edge online publishing with Taylor & Francis Online - Our online publishing platform, Taylor & Francis Online, went live in 2011. It is easy to use and navigate, even for those with limited knowledge of the web. Taylor & Francis Online features articles in both PDF and HTML formats, rich reference linking with CrossRef, online-before-print through iFirst, and many other benefits. Working with Atypon, our technology partner,a allows Taylor & Francis to continuously improve - and update our platform to best meet the fast-evolving needs of our society partners.

Online publishing opens up exciting opportunities to move beyond traditional modes of journal navigation toward the 'semantic web'. Taylor & Francis Online already supports a range of Web 2.0 functionalities, including RSS feeds, forward citation linking and community Arenas. We are developing an extensive programme of enhancements for the future while also meeting the needs of our users from launch; Taylor & Francis Online improves on our previous platform by providing users with new features such as graphical abstracts and 'first page previews' which will allow readers to evaluate content more easily.

Online review and manuscript management - Authors have also benefited from new technologies. Manuscript Central allows articles and revisions to be submitted from any internet-connected location, and gives Editors the freedom to manage all functions of their Editorial office remotely. Some journals with very high article throughput prefer our expert team of in-house Publishing Editors to manage the online submission process on their behalf.

Once an article is accepted by a journal Editor, it passes seamlessly into Taylor & Francis's proprietary CATS system. Our Production team use CATS to guide the article through copy-editing, correction and typesetting to final publication - with authors and Editors able to check on progress online throughout.
