Instructions for Authors
CONTRIBUTIONS CONSIDERED FOR PUBLICATION IN AGREKON
- The manuscript should be submitted electronically to the Editor at the e-mail address below.
- The manuscript should include an abstract at the beginning of not more than 250 words.
- Contributions in Afrikaans should include an extended summary at the end in English. The summary must relate the essential parts of the contribution.
- The text should be presented in Times New Roman 12pt in Microsoft Word ® with 2.5cm margins on paper size A4.
- The title page should include the title, the name(s) of the author(s) and their affiliation(s).
- The Harvard method of referencing should be used, in the form name(s) of the author(s), year of publication, page(s) referred to in the text, e.g. (Author, 1994:100).
- The references should be in alphabetical and then chronological order in the References at the end of the contribution.
- Footnotes and endnotes should be kept to a minimum. Endnotes are located ahead of the references.
- A title, numbered consecutively, should be provided for each table, in bold above the Table, and all tables should be referred to in the text.
- Figures should be numbered consecutively and referred to in the text. Only black-and-white Figures are accepted.
- Figure captions should be in bold below the Figure.
- Drawings should be completely lettered, the size of the lettering being appropriate to that of the drawings, taking into account the possible need for reduction in size (preferably not more than 50 per cent – width of lines should also be taken into account in this regard). The page format of Agrekon should be considered in designing the drawings.
- The official languages of Agrekon are both English and Afrikaans.
- One set of proofs may be sent to the author to be checked for printer's errors. In case of two or more authors please indicate to whom the proofs should be sent.
- All contributions will be carefully refereed in a double-blind process for relevance and quality. Submission of an article is understood to imply that the article is original, has not been published elsewhere and is not being considered/has not been considered for publication elsewhere.
